Open Water swimming camps
With a mild climate (air and sea) during the entire year, Madeira is a perfect destination for open water swimming training camps. The sea is usually calm and warm enough to allow open water swimming disciplines.
The monthly average temperature of seawater is relatively high and varies regularly throughout the year between 17ºC in March and 22ºC in August and September.
Seawater temperature in the region rarely drops below 15°C and rarely exceeds 25ºC.
Madeira is a popular tourism destination, but also offers many open-air sporting activities such as running along its by-the-sea promenades cycling. Thanks to the all-year-round sunny conditions Madeira gathers perfect conditions for warm-weather swimming training camps.
There are also several open water competitions and events in which you can take part in, including the local open water championships, or the Madeira Island International Swim Marathon. For more information about participating in Madeira's swimming competitions, contact us.
