From June 21 to 28, Lisbon proudly hosted the European Transplant Sports Championships 2024, an inspiring event that brought together over 700 participants from more than 25 countries. This multi-sport championship celebrated not only individuals who have undergone organ transplants but also those who have donated organs and patients undergoing dialysis. The event highlighted the resilience and spirit of these remarkable individuals, showcasing their athleticism and determination across a variety of sports.
The European Transplant Sports Championships 2024 featured a diverse range of sports, including athletics, swimming, cycling, bowling, darts, badminton, and pétanque. Each competition highlighted the exceptional talent and dedication of the athletes, creating a vibrant atmosphere of camaraderie and competition.
Our team managed all aspects of the event's logistics, ensuring a smooth and successful experience for everyone involved. This included organizing accommodation, arranging transfers to and from the airport, coordinating the use of sports facilities and some special experiences such as a cultural evening where participants could enjoy typically Portuguese performances by fado singers and an opening ceremony full of music and joy. Every detail was meticulously planned to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience for participants and guests alike.
To mark the end of the week, we hosted a spectacular gala dinner and award ceremony at the stunning Estufa Fria. The evening was a fitting conclusion to a remarkable week, celebrating the achievements of the athletes and the spirit of the games.
