From July 16 to 23, we had the pleasure of hosting an exciting lacrosse training camp in Portugal, where athletes enjoyed an enriching blend of sports and cultural experiences. The camp took place in two vibrant cities: Braga and Lisbon, offering a diverse range of activities both on and off the field.
In Braga, participants engaged in a series of dynamic lacrosse sessions and friendly matches, contributing to their development and competition experience. The city offered more than just sports, with a variety of engaging activities:
- Kayak Tour on the Douro River: Athletes explored the scenic beauty of Braga from a unique perspective, paddling through picturesque landscapes.
- Vineyard Tour: Participants enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the lush vineyards, experiencing the beautiful countryside.
- Porto City Tour: A journey through Porto, known for its rich history and stunning architecture, offered a deeper appreciation of the region.
- European Women’s Lacrosse Championship: Participants had the opportunity to watch top-tier lacrosse action as Braga hosted the European Women’s Lacrosse Championship.
In Lisbon, the camp continued with a blend of historical and leisure activities:
- City Tour: The tour included highlights such as the Praça dos Restauradores, Santa Justa Elevator, and the historic Baixa District with its charming streets and squares.
- Visit to Palácio da Pena: A trip to the magnificent Palácio da Pena in Sintra offered a glimpse into Portugal’s royal history and breathtaking architecture.
- Sintra Tour: The tour of Sintra included visits to its charming historic center, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site for its cultural significance and architectural beauty.
- Free Time at the Beach: Athletes enjoyed some relaxation and leisure time at the beautiful beaches of Lisbon, unwinding and soaking up the sun.
