Water Polo Training Camp in Porto

25 Oct 2024 Training Camps

From October 19th to 24th, 2024, the German under-16 water polo team, ASC Brandenburg, participated in a sports training camp in the city of Porto. During the camp, the athletes participated in intensive training sessions, friendly matches, and joint training sessions with teams from Clube Fluvial Portuense. This collaboration offered an excellent opportunity and valuable experience for the young German athletes.

The camp took place in Porto, one of the most vibrant and historic cities in Portugal. Located in the north of the country on the right bank of the Douro River, Porto is known for its rich cultural and architectural heritage. In addition to training, the players from ASC Brandenburg had the chance to explore the city’s historic center, commonly referred to as the "baixa" of Porto.

The team also enjoyed a boat tour along the iconic six bridges spanning the Douro River, which connect Porto with Vila Nova de Gaia: the Arrábida Bridge, Dom Luís I Bridge, Infante D. Henrique Bridge, Maria Pia Bridge, São João Bridge, and Freixo Bridge.

This experience not only allowed the ASC Brandenburg players to discover a new city but also provided an opportunity to practice their sport in a different setting with local teams, concluding the training camp with a memorable blend of sports and culture.
